Since its establishment, The Faculty of Health sciences (FHS) has endeavored to provide Lebanese and regional markets with qualified in the paramedical fields to reduce the marked deficiency in specialized and skilled biomedical science technologies and health care professionals. The FHS does not offer majors in areas that have reached career saturation, but strive to furnish majors of applied nature where professional development is key in furthering the academic process; hence, meeting the ever growing demand for graduates in the aforementioned majors.
The Faculty is actively engaged in research; its faculty members’ research interests include GMO analysis, human identification and population genetics, genetic disease diagnosis, in addition to cancer biology and immunity. Other research subjects include applied toxicology and metabolic biology with emphasis on occupational toxicology and screening of genetic errors o metabolism.
The FHS has secured intramural as well as extramural funding for the expansion of research activities and the recruitment of faculty members with proven track record in research. The FHS has signed cooperation agreements with renowned international universities and institutions, including the University of Lausanne, the University of California- Berkeley, and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.Zouhair Attieh, Dean
